Everything you need to know about the paperwork for donating your car in CA.
When donating your vehicle in California, you will need to sign the title over to Delta Ride Exchange. It’s important to ensure you sign in the designated area, as this is how ownership is transferred. California does not require notarization for title transfers, so you can simply fill out the title before handing it over.
After signing, you must notify the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) of the transfer. If you have a lien holder, you will need to address that as well before the donation. If the title is lost, you can request a duplicate from the DMV before proceeding with the donation process.
